042010 - Darlene Zschech and the Hillsong Worship Team LIVE IN MANILA

My cousin and I had witnessed how the whole crowd shouted their hearts out as they all sang Hillsong’s praise & worship songs. Of course, I count myself in. I totally grooved the whole night. I also had this kind of mixed emotions. I realized a lot of things. I cried.

JESUS IS SO AMAZING!!

We had the best seats. Though we’re only two, we still had the best night ever. We made the most out of our 3-hour stay there. Everybody had fun.

It feels good to attend concerts like this for it’s better to invest to events that will yield you more closer to God than those of famous stars wherein you can’t benefit anything. At least, for Christian concerts like this, you’ll get to experience Jesus Christ through the songs. You’ll get to release all the pain & heartache you’ve been carrying. Similar to what I had encounter. This was actually my 2nd time to attend such event. My first one was that of Planetshakers.

Jesus SHOULD still be our #1 SUPERSTAR!

Agree with the ending sentence, Sharleen! :)

Title : For The Last Time
Our Project in I.C.T. Two thumbs up for my group :) Thanks God we got a high grade.  Prof. Babsie told us after watching the narrative video ” I’m speechless “
I’m the girl in the last scene (who acted like a crazy lady in the CR) ..
“PAKATDU NA AKO SA MAYNILA. PWEDE MO BA AKO HALUKAN FOR THE LAST TIME”

Congratulations Rizza, Nica, and company! Good job with this short narrative, God is great! Using a different dialect is very creative. I’m so proud of all of you! :D

Still Standing - Israel Houghton (Israel & New Breed)

I love this version! I actually danced and can’t help it but to sing out loud! If I were in that church, I’ll literally rock my heart out while dancing (like no one is there except the band, of course) and worshiping in spirit and in truth! GOD DESERVES THE BEST OF OUR WORSHIP!

This is not “I’m-still-standing-and-I-barely-made-it-and-I-crawled-into-the-building-and-just-pray-for-me-brother-nobody-knows-the-trouble-I-see” kind of standing.

When I was kid, I had one of those things that you could punch in and it goes down and it pops right back up because it was weighted on the bottom. So,

This kind of Still Standing is, He has hit me with His best shot, life is poured all it could on me, and I gonna bounce back in my spirit!

YOU CAN’T KEEP A BLESSED MAN DOWN!

YOU CAN’T KEEP A BLESSED WOMAN DOWN!

- Israel Houghton

YOU REALLY CAN’T KEEP ME DOWN! BECAUSE I’M STILL STANDING! BUT! BY THE GRACE OF GOD!

YOU GOT TO FINISH THIS!

Pastor Pleads for Help in Haiti

From an amateur video, Louis Saint Germain who runs orphanage in Haiti asks for assistance as ‘people are losing everything they have’.

My sister showed me this video (last Sunday before attending the Sunday service) for she was disappointed after reading comments that was against what the Pastor had said. Apparently, the comments were leading into one point and belief : BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENED TO HAITI, PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT JESUS AND “THE FATHER IN HEAVEN” DOES NOT EXIST.

So I signed in my YouTube account and commented. Too bad I have to shorten it because of the character limit, though, I wanted to say more.

This is devastating but NO, God doesn’t want His people to experience turmoil. Everything is planned and this is just one of many things? that will happen to the world. Read the bible, understand why. We are sinners, admit it, we deserve this but God doesn’t look at it that way. He is coming to help us.

THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO COME TO HIM AND REPENT. STOP HATING GOD FOR YOU BECOME POSSIBLE INTO THIS WORLD BECAUSE OF HIM. EVERY BEAUTIFUL THING COMES FROM HIM. He loves you, people of Haiti!

These were the points that came  out to my mind as I was thinking about it:

  • Sad truth: Some people only call out to God when they are in need.
  • Sadder truth: Some people blame God when they are in need.
  • Saddest truth: Some people believe that God doesn’t exist when they are in need.

(However, as I was typing this post, our house electricity fluctuated. The computer went black. So we attended the Sunday Service first and I decided to get back with this after church…)

What I learned from our Senior Pastor: The day Haiti was struck by the massive earthquake - an Equip Leaders Mandate was being held somewhere near its capital, Port-au-Prince. He (our Senior Pastor) received an e-mail from one of the pastors involved in the Leaders Mandate telling him how much they were very grateful to the Lord for they saw buildings shaking and falling down but the building where the Mandate were being held, stood still. Almost 200 (if I remember what I heard right) Pastors survived the calamity and now they are staying there in Haiti to reach out for the people in need. Can you imagine what God can really do for His servants?

Our SP also indicated facts about Haiti. It’s a country where almost half of its population started and practicing the Haitian Vodou religion. So I thought of the words I commented in the video, “we are sinners, admit it, we deserve this but God doesn’t look at it that way…” and “THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO COME TO HIM AND REPENT..”.

Jeremiah 18:15-17  says, “Yet my people have forgotten me; they burn incense to worthless idols, which made them stumble in their ways and in the ancient paths. They made them walk in bypaths and on roads not built up. Their land will be laid waste, an object of lasting scorn; all who pass by will be appalled and will shake their heads. Like a wind from the east, I will scatter them before their enemies; I will show them my back and not my face in the day of their disaster.”

In the book of Jeremiah, God brought calamity on Israel because they had forgotten Him. Now let us ask ourselves, have we forgotten God? Have we sacrificed - probably not incense, but how about time, money, and effort - to other gods (like ourselves)? Have we took everything (He said) in the bible for granted?

This may not be the mere reasons that God sent Haiti an earthquake but does God not have good reason to send judgment on our world? I am not saying that Haiti deserves this because of their wrong practice. Neither am I saying this because I’m a believer (who doesn’t engage into other religion and agrees that my relationship with Jesus is important than religion) and I haven’t experienced any earthquakes in my life yet. No. I am saying this for us to realize that life isn’t that long for us to mingle and spend it with unrighteousness. I’m just pointing out what I have learned from the calamity. That this is the time to repent and turn away from our wicked ways. Call out to God for He will hear from Heaven and He will heal our broken land.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” - 2 Chronicles 7:14

Just last year from the month of October to November, Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng made the Philippines undergo State of Calamity, also. It took down lots of lives and possessions making Filipinos totally devastated. But on the lighter note of the story — God proved that love and kindness will outdo any hatred and depressions when we are in need. Donations outnumbered the casualties. HELP WAS ALL AROUND. I think that’s exactly what the Pastor in this video was saying — “Help us, do what you can to spread the message of love of God to the people of Haiti” means “Send us some help, some prayers”. Look around you — everyone’s trying to get some help for Haiti, don’t they?

Now if we cannot do anything, let us just pray for the people of Haiti to be strong and for them to rise up again. Let us not judge what they have done in the past — let us not think of how much they have sinned — let us just be brothers and sister in Christ, and let us pray for them.

I shall wrap up my post quoting a pastor from Christian Research Institute.

We have no warrant whatsoever to suggest that the Haitians today dying in an earthquake are dying because of a pact that their forefathers made with the devil. This is not only absurd, it is deflective to the Gospel! It is much better that we get on our knees and pray for the Haitians and recognize that our lives are temporary. We live in a cursed creation, a fallen world, that one day will give way to the best of all worlds, a new Heaven and a new Earth, wherein dwells righteousness.

I strongly agree. If you want to read the whole article and understand the Haitians forefathers’ history, click the link above. God bless you!
