And this is what we call, murder. Kidding! Our professors were distressing us lately. We don’t actually know why but according to them, all requirements must be accomplished BEFORE MARCH 15. Because… *insert the title of this post here*.
Please, pray for me because undeniably this is hard.. (“this is hard” to the point that it is still an understatement) You don’t know how hard it is to be a Mass Communication student.
I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength. - Philippians 4:13

BEIJING (Xinhua) - The China Earthquake Administration (CEA) upgraded the scale of an earthquake striking Chile on Saturday afternoon to 8.8 magnitude. In an earlier report, the CEA survey put the magnitude of the earthquake at 8.5.
‘#Chile’, ‘#Pacific Tsunami’, ‘#Japan’, ‘#Hawaii’ and ‘#Haiti’ are the new trending topics on Twitter right now. Help out by spreading the news so we can gather a wide populace of prayer warriors around the world. A tidbit of history of earthquakes in Chile:
About 400 km southwest to the epicenter, an 8.9-magnitude quake in 1960 claimed about 20,000 lives and triggered a tsunami that swept across the Pacific Ocean, killing scores of people in Japan and the Philippines.
PLEASE PRAY HARD. Not only because the Philippines is likely vulnerable of the said Pacific Tsunami/ Earthquake but because every soul, every person, is important.
“FEU SAMASA members are copy cats.” This is what the Lasallians are all saying nowadays. Earlier today, my sister, who’s an alumna of DLSU taft, told me the big buzz about SAMASA. As it turns out, SAMASA, one of the party lists in FEU has been copying DLSU’s TAPAT and SANTUGON party’s…
This is an article written by my current block mate Loisa Vie, regarding the dispute between the FEU and DLSU’s long time electoral party lists, SAMASA and TAPAT/SANTUGON respectively. If you guys aren’t aware, I recommend you all to read this. I have no stand whatsoever with regards to this matter (I’m supporting the other party list, just to be honest with everyone), however, I couldn’t agree more with what my block mate wrote — Fan pages on Facebook isn’t a way to settle this; it made issues even worse.
Just when you thought that collegiate election is way cleaner than that of our National elections, think again. It’s getting overrated and many of us, Mass Communication students in FEU can utterly attest to that.
Nevertheless, I bid you all with peace! :)
I got this from the Facebook account of my Aunt, Tita Minie, that resides in California. I didn’t know about this until I saw it. I’m so proud of my relatives.
THE LOTUS MITCHELL AWARD LIVES ON!
Monogram Biosciences, my late husband’s employer, created a sales award in honor of his memory. The criteria for this award exemplifies the characteristics and qualities that Lotus demonstrated as an employee. It is annually presented at their National Sales Meeting, which was held last night, Feb.3rd, in Scottsdale, Arizona. LabCorp recently acquired Monogram Biosciences and so it was the first time this award was presented under the new management and because of this change, last night could have been the last time for the Lotus Mitchell Award. I guess Monogram did a wonderful job of showing LabCorp what they are as a company and how much this award means to them because Steve Anderson, one of LabCorp’s chief executive, talked to me over the phone last night saying that he was deeply moved by what Monogram had shared about what kind of person Lotus was and about his family and that he commits to keep the award going to serve as an inspiration to their employees! I also spoke with Kimberly, the recipient of the award and she was so happy and honored and she said that ever since it started, it has been the most coveted sales award in their organization!
I am really happy and so touched to hear that they will keep Lotus’ memory alive! WE LOVE YOU AND ARE SO PROUD OF YOU, DADDY! To Lotus’ friends and family, please share this news to those who are not on my Facebook! Thanks so much for reading my post! Take care!
Pat Langsdale, the first recipient, presented the award last night and showed this photo of Lotus along with more recent photos of the kids and since we couldn’t be present physically, Pat also read a message on my behalf and below is that message if you’d like to read on.
“Three and a half years ago, my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He died a month later on his 41st birthday, July 21st, 2006. During that difficult and frightening time in our lives, I could not have asked for a more supportive or caring employer for Lotus than Monogram Biosciences. Patty Wray and Mike Vicari were extraordinary. They often visited us at the hospital and regularly updated the company as to his condition. At the time, I had a very heavy load to carry. Monogram did things I could not rightfully have expected - they enrolled my children in a summer camp near the hospital, provided them with transportation to and from his hospital room, and even provided us with a take out food service as we stayed with him during the illness. I can’t imagine how I would have managed that time without the company’s sensitive attention and we are forever grateful.
As if all of the help we were given was somehow not enough, Monogram also honored my husband’s memory by creating a sales award in his name. This gesture profoundly affected my children, and certainly is helping them integrate their love for their father.
We attended your National Sales Meeting when the Lotus Mitchell Award was presented for the year 2007 and 2008. I watched my kids as the award was presented, and it warmed my heart to see them so proud to be the children of Lotus Mitchell.
Lotus has two children from his first marriage, Alexandra who is now 20, in college and working at Whole Foods, and Mauricio, now 17 and a junior in high school. Lotus and I have two children of our own, Paolo, 12, who, like his dad, loves basketball, and Gianina, 9, who is into gymnastics. They are doing well at school. All four maintain close relations with each other. Mauicio lives with us during the week so that he can be in a better school district. I work close to home and am able to get them to and from school and see their sports and other activities.
All five of us feel blessed by our association with Monogram. The company provided us with immeasurably important support during our most difficult times. We wish to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and we hope the Lotus Mitchell award continues to serve a purpose as a award for employee inspiration and recognition. You have a fantastic company and we wish you all great success. Thank you from the Mitchell Family!”
This is a great testimony, indeed. I wish we’ve spent more time with Tito Lotus. Fate didn’t allow, but I know he is a good man, Tita Minie! We miss you, of course, Gianina and Paolo too! :)
