"Your insights and idealism is admirable"
**This is a chat conversation between me and Sir Carmelo Jose Gutierrez, my Radio and TV 100 (RTV100 - a third year student-subject) professor. He is also an Executive Producer of GMA7 News & Public Affairs Department and a good friend to all of his students. He won't be teaching this sem though. Feel so grateful to the Lord for instilling the "insights and ideals" my prof was referring to. ^_^
Sir Melo: hey hey hey
Jeah: Hi sir!
Sir Melo: hi there jahaziel how are you?
Jeah: I'm fine sir, 4th year na talaga ako. Nagtuturo po ba kayo this sem?
Go Sir!
Sir Melo: tamuhhhh!!!! alam mo naman...too many work...can result to mediocrity...not only work will suffer but the kind of wisdom and learning a person could impart sa academe
Jeah: Wow, I like what you said sir! I agree with you. Minsan we also have to learn to say no para makapagproduce ng quality work sa mga existing commitments natin
Sir Melo: yes...actually I was torn to decline the offer to teach sa academe...I needed a month to think pa nga..but I have to weigh things...during your batch when I taught your class...nakafocus ako...eh kapag naging absentee ako...its my failure din sa magiging product ng mga students later on...
Sir Melo: kaya nga Im sooo proud of your class..2 classes lang hinandle ko but Im sure and I proved na happy ako sa output at result niyo...its the quality not the quantity
Jeah: Perfect!
My bosses were also happy sa kind of students I handled and sa inyo lalu na
Sir Melo: OMG...alam mo akala ko urban legend lang yan...pero coming from you...ibig sabihin totoo yan...nangyayari talaga yan?...sorry ha kasi naman wala akong ka-close na prof sa Feu...after class umuuwi na ako...talagang mag-chikahan tayo sa FB di ba..
Jeah: hahaha thank you sir for imparting what you know sa amin na hungry ang thirsty for right education Hahaha hindi po urban legend yan maraming ganyan. though sa FEU mass comm, proud to say na nabibilang naman sa kamay yung tamad na prof, halos lahat naman magagaling. Hehe..Haha oo nga po eh.
Sir Melo: you know what...kaya ako nagturo dahil nga na-a-alarm na ako sa mga masscomm students na di nag-wo-work sa tv..not only in FEU but in general...nakakasad lang kasi...the educators who are suppose to teach eh sinasayang yung window of opportunity...
Jeah: Opo, lalo na ngayon dedicated ang mga bata to learn, to explore things, to really work in a field na gustong gusto nila, at sayang kung di mapupunan yun ng mga taong puedeng makatulong sakanila
Sir Melo: alam mo para kang "old soul" in a modern era...Im sure...magiging guro ka din in the near future... the way you talk...your insights and your idealism...is admirable
Jeah: Wow Sir, that's so much for a compliment. Tapos coming from you pa! Gusto ko rin naman po maging teacher. I have a passion for teaching bata palang ako. I always feel na unfair ako pag may alam ako tapos di ko nashe-share
Sir Melo: tama yan...you have the right attitude...right reason...and right path...I do share those idealisms...kaya nga galit ako sa madadamot lalu na sa nalalaman nila...
Jeah: Haha. Thank you ulit, sir. Ang saya naman! I also like to share my thoughts lalo na po kung may ma-iinspire at mamo-motivate ako na tao to do something that can change lives and eventually change his surroundings, his community and the world
Sir Melo: wait...nagpupuyat ka hija? may pasok ka ba tom? naku you better catch some sleep and rest...at bata pa kayo (nanay?)
Jeah: Haha, may ginagawa pa po sir.. Ikaw po maaga pa ang work tomorrow (nanay rin?)
Sir Melo: Aww..sorry for making istorbo hehehe. Yeah, still checking the scripts of my team
Jeah: No sir di naman istorbo. Go lang sir haha
**Sadly, we were not able to end it with our goodbyes because of the faulty Facebook chat. Haha. Praise You Lord!
